- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup shortening
- ½ cup cold water
- ½ teaspoon salt
Roll thin like a piecrust into a rectangular shape. Peel and slice 5 apples, and sprinkle with 2/3 cup sugar, I teaspoon cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon nutmeg. Mix well and spread on dough. Roll dough up like a jelly roll and slice into 12 pieces. Place in a 9×13” baking pan.
In a separate bowl, mix 3 cups brown sugar, 3 cups boiling water, and 2 tablespoons butter. Pour over the apple rolls. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Serve with cream or ice cream.
